Registration will open on January 2 for Summer 2023 teams. This is a great introduction to fastpitch softball where girls will learn the correct techniques for fielding, batting, and hitting. Fastpitch is how softball is played in high school and collegiate levels. AC Fastpitch is the primary feeder program for Cooper and Armstrong fastpitch programs.
Join us for free skills clinics on in at the New Hope Community Gym starting in January. This is a great way to try fastpitch softball! Sign up on the registration page.
8U: Birth Years for the 2022 season: 2014, 2015 and 2016: Machine Pitch and cost is $50.
Included in the cost are:
- Full uniform: jersey, pants, socks, and belt
- Practices, weekly league games, one coach selected tournament and end of year state tournament
- Team gear
Players must provide: Glove, batting helmet with face-mask and bat. Additional recommended equipment: fielders face mask, cleats, batting gloves. We have a supply of equipment (bats, gloves and helmets) available on loan for the season.
Games and practices:
Games will be played on Wednesdays starting in May and each team plays on 9 dates concluding early July. The league tries very hard to keep the games within the Northwest suburbs but longer travel may be needed on occasion. At the 8u level all games are machine pitch.
Practices will be held at one of the local parks and are usually 1-2 days per week. AC Fastpitch will provide additional development clinics during the season. This is a fun and affordable way to introduce your daughter to the sport of Fastpitch Softball.
Tournaments:
Our 8u teams play in two tournaments during the summer. This included the State Tournament held on July 9,10 and one additional tournament usually held on Fathers Day weekend.
Coaches:
AC Fastpitch is a non-profit volunteer based organization. As such, we rely on parent volunteers to fill head coaching, assistants and parent helpers. Training is provided to those interested and are ability to field teams depends on parent volunteers.
Fundraising:
Fundraising is essential for our organization as it helps offset the cost of our operating expenses. Without fundraising, we would have to significantly raise the price for each player to play. A $50 fundraising commitment check will be collected from each player and will be returned to you when the player fulfills the minimum fundraising requirement each season of play.
